If your chosen form of dog kennel is a crate then there are a variety of dog crate accessories available to make it into a more comfortable and den like structure. A nice, cosy bed, a selection of fun toys and a sturdy water bowl are all important and will help your dog to come to love his home. However, a final essential item which not everyone would immediately think of is a dog crate cover.
These covers come in a huge variety of styles and sizes to fit any crate and here we will discuss the main types:
Roof cover – these covers simply go over the top of the crate and are fixed at each corner. They are great for giving shade on scorching days or keeping the worst of the wet off your pet when the heavens open but don’t give any added insulation.
Full nylon cover – generally used for smaller crates to make them more homely, they have the advantage of being easy to put on and remove and can be washed in a washing machine. Often they come with roll up sides so that you can open one or more walls for the occupant to see out.
Reversible dog cage cover – similar in style to a nylon cover, these have one silver side and one dark side. This allows you to make a silver outer, if you need to reflect the sun and keep your dog cool or to put the silver inside if you want to keep in the heat and keep him warm in bad weather.
No matter what style of cover you go for your dog will feel that his crate has become more homely and safe and will be happy to spend time in there while you are away at work or visiting friends or relatives.

Teenagers have been affected by this bad economy more than any other group with teen unemployment over 25%. Anyone who has been searching for jobs for 17 year olds this summer knows just how hard it is to find openings and once you do find one, there are many applicants to beat out.
The lack of jobs is the biggest problem as employers are forced to cut back. The future is so uncertain that they just can’t afford to hire people at this time. That means the folks who do have work are often doing the job of two people to make up for the shortage.
Additionally, older workers are now willingly taking jobs that are well beneath their experience level. These are jobs they wouldn’t have considered a couple of years ago and they are often the jobs that are given to teens. So teens find themselves on the absolute bottom of the ladder with very few options and little experience.
The last two summers (2009 and 2010) saw many teens never able to find any job at all. No matter how hard they looked or tried, many were unable to get hired anywhere. This means these kids will not get the job experience they should have as it is beneficial for teens to find out what it is like out in the workplace. Teens need to learn how to deal bosses and co-workers and also learn about showing up on time for work. Jobs for 17 year olds do provide money but they also teach a teenager valuable life lessons they can use later on.
At this point in time, it looks like things are not going to get better anytime soon. The economy shows no signs of improving and with all the money the government is wasting, many predict a bad job market may continue for several years. This means many of the teens of today and tomorrow will be graduating high school with zero job experience and this does not bode well for them or society. We need to be teaching our youth what will be expected of them as adults and a job is one of the ways they learn.

Gun safes are expensive; there’s just about no getting around that. There is absolutely no way you’re going to legally acquire a gun safe without spending at least a few hundred dollars. There are, however, cheap gun safes on the market for those of us who can’t afford to drop several thousand dollars to keep up with the gun-toting Jones family next door.
A cheap gun safe can mean two different things. It can mean poor quality, or it can mean good value at an affordable price. If it’s poor quality there’s no value in it.
Cheap quality safes are generally made in third world countries where the labor is inexpensive. This isn’t to say that every good safe manufacturer is American — that simply isn’t true. That said, manufacturers who cut cost on labor tend to also cut costs on important features like steel, fire resistance, and good construction practices. Don’t be fooled by pretty surface appealing bells and whistles; if the safe falls apart against the swing of a hammer, it’s no good (yes there plenty that fall into this category). Save your money and get a metal gun cabinet.
Fortunately there are some manufacturers who offer cheap gun safes with good value. These will usually fall in the $750-$1200 range, offering both fire resistance as well as sound, proven resilience to burglar attacks. Some safes that generally fall into this classification are those made by companies like Sentry, Winchester, and Stack-On. Here’s an article describing some of these cheap gun safes in more detail.
How are the aforementioned companies able to offer quality at such a low price? First of all, they aren’t the pick of the litter. If you want to get the best safe out there, you need to be prepared to spend at least $5K. Unfortunately, that doesn’t fall into most gun owners’ budgets, so we need to look into products that get the job done with the bare minimum. That’s what a lot of these manufacturers do; they offer the minimum on glitz, and put the money into the stuff that matters – you may not get a leather interior with a Winchester, but you’ll get a quality, UL rated lock, and a solid steel body with a continuous weld…a quality cheap gun safe.
